👧 “Children Our Pride” Project

The “Children Our Pride” Project, implemented by Chhori NGO with the support of Kindernothilfe, focuses on strengthening child protection and child rights at the community level.

The project is currently implemented in Chandrapur Municipality, covering Ward No. 9 and 10 for the past three years, and Ward No. 4 for one year.

🎯 Program Objective

The main objective of the project is to ensure the protection, participation, and rights of children by creating safer and more supportive environments at family, school, and community levels.

🔄 Program Approach

The project works through three interconnected focus areas:

  • Child Capacity Building
    Supporting children in developing confidence, communication skills, and awareness of their rights
  • Safe Spaces for Children
    Creating environments where children can safely express themselves and share their experiences
  • Family, School, and Community Engagement
    Working closely with families and schools, where children spend most of their time, to strengthen protection systems

🛠️ Key Activities

  • Formation and support of 16 child club groups
  • Establishment of 13 parent groups
  • Facilitation of safe discussion spaces for children
  • Awareness and capacity-building sessions for families and communities
  • Advocacy to prevent violence, neglect, and harmful practices affecting children

🤝 Collaboration & Advocacy

The project works in coordination with local stakeholders to strengthen child protection systems:

  • Collaboration with municipality-level child rights committees
  • Engagement with four ward-level child rights committees
  • Cooperation with local authorities, schools, and community leaders
  • Advocacy with private sector actors, religious leaders, and local organizations

This multi-stakeholder approach supports the development and implementation of sustainable child protection mechanisms.
