Girls’ Education Program
Chhori’s Girls’ Education and Empowerment Program is dedicated to supporting girls—especially those who have survived violence, abuse, trafficking, and exploitation—to access quality education and build a better future. The project works in both rural and urban areas, including Kaski, Pokhara, Rautahat, and Kathmandu, focusing on girls from slum communities, rural villages, and even those involved in the entertainment sector.
The program aims to:
- Support out-of-school girls to rejoin and continue formal education.
- Provide psycho social counseling and empowerment training to help girls heal and grow.
- Strengthen the relationship between families, schools, and communities to create a safer and more supportive learning environment.
Key activities include:
- Education support for over 100 new girls, alongside continued support for existing beneficiaries.
- Counseling and training on personal development, leadership, and writing personal stories.
- Awareness workshops on the barriers to girls’ education.
- Parental and community engagement through meetings, counseling sessions, and collaboration with schools and local authorities.
Through this program, girls are not only returning to school but also becoming more confident, aware of their rights, and actively raising their voices. They are forming child clubs, speaking out against child labor, early marriage, and abuse, and even advocating for children’s rights in community forums and government meetings.
This initiative proves that education is not just about going to school—it’s about building strong, informed, and empowered young leaders who can transform their lives and communities.
