Transforming Adolescent Girls into Transformational Leaders (TAGAT)
Chhori successfully completed the TAGAT project with a mission to empower adolescent girls and young women who have survived violence, abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. The goal was to help them heal emotionally and grow into confident leaders who can support others and challenge injustice in their communities.

Key Achievements:

  • 37 survivor leaders trained and empowered

  • Reached over 3,555 girls and women through awareness and support

  • 1,640 reached through awareness sessions

  • 1,100 through field visits

  • 600 referred for shelter, counseling, and vocational training

  • 215 girls received education support

  • 7,000+ people reached indirectly through outreach and events

Impact:

Survivor leaders are now working in meaningful roles—social workers, teachers, coordinators, shelter managers, riders, bakers, and more. Many are earning income through Chhori’s handicraft program and confidently sharing their stories through social media, art, and drama.

This project helped transform lives—turning pain into purpose, and survivors into leaders.
